NSO conducts Seminar-Workshop on 2003 NDHS result

To further disseminate the 2003 National Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS), the National Statistics Office (NSO) is set to conduct a seminar workshop here in the region on March 28 to 29, 2005 at Punta Villa Resort & Conference Center in Arevalo, Iloilo City.

The two-day seminar workshop will be attended by the different provincial and city planning, health and population officers in the region, planning officers of the capital towns of the provinces of Antique, Aklan and Guimaras and program implementers of the different concerned government agencies.

The 2003 NDHS is a nationally representative survey of women age 15-49 and men age 15-54. Its main purpose is to provide policy makers and program managers with detailed information on family planning, childhood and adult mortality, maternal and child health and knowledge and attitudes related to HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases.

During the seminar workshop participants will have the chance to analyze issues arising from the result of the survey and draft action plans and programs relative to LGUs'/agencies' goals and targets in reproductive health, other health concerns and its implications with the over-all plan in improving the living condition of the people.
