Miriam does not want to be part of the mob

After two sessions of the Congressional inquiry on the alleged anomaly in the Iloilo Airport project in Cabatuan and Sta. Barbara, Iloilo , the hecklers of Gov. Niel D. Tupas have, so far, succeeded only in two things: grandstanding and bellyaching.

Politicians out to disgrace Gov. Niel D. Tupas have shown their true colors; they are not actually after the "truth"--they are after the neck of Tupas for denying them access to what they perceived to be their cookie jar.

Even the firebrand Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago has lost interest on the issue after she realized that those who take potshots at the Iloilo governor are themselves characters with incredible background and sullied credibility.

She must have also found the issue very trivial that panders only on malicious innuendos by people outraged by their having been consigned outside the “kulambo”, a place where they rightly belong.

The good Ilonggo senator did not want to be part of the mob salivating for Tupas' blood. She could sense a crook thirty eight miles away, and she sensed it when the real crooks tried in vain to use her in their hideous crime.

As a brilliant Constitutionalist, Sen. Santiago knows how to discern a legitimate from a phony case. While the critics of Tupas were aghast on how to tear him to shreds before the House Committee on Good Government, Senator Miriam studied her homework; she did not join the fray outright, which would have satisfied the wolves angling for a big bite in the neck of Tupas.

Maybe, if they cannot convince Madam Miriam to hit Tupas south of the border, they will next ask Sen. Lito Lapid to shoot the governor with a paltik revolver or ask Sen. Bong Revilla to deliver a karate chop on Tupas, out of their severe frustration and madness. I pity them. They are worst than clowns and hippopotamuses.

Hence, there is now a widespread panic among the gremlins after they realized nobody from the Upper House is deadset to swallow the canard vs Tupas hook, line and sinker.

Okay, granting there will be a third session, or, perhaps, fourth, fifth and even sixth. Who will gain from this waste of people's money? Nobody except the bloodthirsty rascals who think they have the monopoly to honesty in the corridors of politics.

Even if they drag the body of Tupas to the river Styx and summon all the demons and the bad breaths, they can never put the good man down.

The fact that the inquiry is only "in aid of legislation" shows that the crabs otherwise known as " Iloilo congressmen" who connived with the anti-Tupas bashers are only after publicity and vengeance.

They get sick if they can't hurt the Tupas family. They are so bitter and jealous that they have appended all the crimes in the statute of law to the family even if the next election is still two years away.

If they want Iloilo to become an economic tiger in this part of the country, the least that they should have done was to cooperate with the governor if they are really true blue patriots and sincere public servants, and see to it that the Iloilo airport is erected and inaugurated first to serve the Ilonggos and the neighboring cities.

But they did not. They wanted instant infamy for the province at the expense of Tupas and his minions. They are the worst crabs; these idiots who have no “utang nga kabalaslan” and no sense of “delicadeza”.

Please look at yourselves in the mirror before you cast stone to others.

Have you washed your faces this morning?
