Region 11's most wanted man falls

The most wanted person in Region 11 with a P300 ,000 reward for his arrest was nabbed March 9 at Sitio Balangigay , Brgy . Miranda, Negros Occidental.

Jerry C. Geollegue alias Jerry/ Jerico Geanga , 42, married, a native of Poblacion , Banaybanay , Davao Oriental and a former cop assigned at Sigaboy police station fell into the hands of authorities.

The suspect was arrested in a joint operation of Regional Intelligence Office (RIO-6), Presidential Anti-Crime Emergency Response (PACER- Visayas ) and Pontevedra Police Station.  

The arresting team was led by RIO-6 acting chief Insp. Samuel C. Nacion and PACER-6 head Senior Insp. Sofronio Fusin , Jr , under the direct supervision of PRO-6 director Chief Supt. Doroteo A. Reyes II .

Geollegue is facing charges of murder and frustrated murder with no bail bond recommended for his temporary liberty. His capture was made by virtue of Order of Arrest issued by Hon. Judge Francisco Lopez of 4 th MCTC, Lupon Banaybanay , Davao Oriental, dated December 28, 1999 .

Police said that Geollegue had gone into hiding after he shot to death his neighbor Nemesio Miramonte last December 19, 1999. The incident also caused the wounding of Miramonte's niece Aniceta Sarucam .    

Reyes presented Geollegue to the Iloilo media March 10. He is presently under the custody of RIO-6 for the proper disposition of his case.
