Tribu Silak is Dinagyang's entry in the Aliwan Fiesta 2005

Finally, it will be Tribu Silak who will officially represent the Dinagyang Festival of Iloilo City in this year's Aliwan Fiesta slated this coming April 21 to 23, 2005 in Manila .

Dinagyang Executive Director Ben Jimena said Tribu Silak was chosen by the Executive Committee of the Dinagyang Festival as the official entry to the 2005 Aliwan Fiesta contest and which shall be registered as Tribu Dingayang .

Tribu Silak was chosen after a secret balloting was conducted among the members of the Dinagyang Executive Committee last February 16, 2005 held at the Conference Room of the Iloilo City hall . The selection through balloting has been done to determine which between the two tribe winners in the Dinagyang 2005 namely the Pag-asa and Silak shall represent the Dinagyang and further in compliance with the policy of Aliwan Fiesta for just one entry from a recognized and invited festival in the region.

Aside from the dance parade, the Iloilo Dinagyang will also participate in the Reyna Ng Aliwan and the Float contests.

The dance parade which is the highlight of the contest is scheduled on April 23, 2005 . It will start at the Quirino Grandstand and ends at the CCP Complex. Participants are expected to perform for five minutes each in two judging areas located at the Quirino Grandstand and the CCP Complex. They will be judged based on the following criteria: choreography 25%, performance 20%, theme/concept 15%, props 15%, costume 15% and dance consistency 10%.

Winners in the Dance competition will receive the following cash prizes: 1 st prize – P1 ,000,000 , 2 nd prize – P500,000, 3 rd prize – P250,000 and the seven runners up will receive P50,000 each.

On the other hand, winners of the Best Float competition will receive the following cash prizes: 1 st prize – P500 ,000 , 2 nd prize – P250,000, 3 rd prize – P100,000 and the seven runners up will receive P25,000 each.

In the Reyna Ng Aliwan Search, Shamie Marie de la Cruz, Miss Dinagyang 2005 will compete with the other regions' festival queens. They will be judged on the following criteria: personality – 30%, beauty and poise- 25%. Costume – 20% and over-all impact 25%.

The winners in the said beauty contest will take home the following cash prizes: Reyna Ng Aliwan – P50 ,000 , 1 st runner-up – P20,000 and the three 2 nd runners-up will receive P10,000 each.
