Iloilo SMEs can get loans from BPI bank

The Small and Medium scale Enterprises ( SMEs ) here now have the chance to get loans from Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI).

This after it has launched the “Show Me, Teach Me, SME”, a program that focuses on the financial and credit management for businesses with asset ranging from P3 million to P15 million and workforces of less than 100 employees.

BPI Foundation executive director Veronica Tapia- Merk stressed the project is aimed to strengthen the organizational capabilities of entrepreneurs as it is committed to expand SME opportunities in key cities like Cagayan de Oro , Naga and Metro Manila.

Merk cited the program has already been enjoying success in Pampanga , Davao , Cebu and Batangas .

In a business forum at Hotel del Rio, Iloilo City on February 24, invited participants were introduced to their BPI employee-mentors who further briefed them with pointers on financial and credit concepts. The mentoring process would last for three months.

“BPI Foundation manages programs in education, enterprise development, basic services, cooperation and values formation. In its 25 th year, the foundation has added employee volunteerism to its program, forming multi- sectoral partnerships in basic services, disaster response and the environment,” Merk noted.
