“Sir…” “Ma'am…”

Courtesy is paramount in General Aglipay's C.A.R.E program. He is confident that by keeping our police force courteous and respectful ; it will not take too long for the PNP to gain back the confidence of the populace.

General Edgar Aglipay, Chief, PNP, defines courtesy in its simplest expression by calling the people, especially the masa , “Sir” or “Ma'am” and by using “ Po ” or “ Opo ”. Recently, sticker samples of Telephone Answering Standard (TAS) were distributed in all PNP units to remind police members of etiquette while answering telephone callers. Need not to mention in this endeavor the dissemination of various directives and guidelines in the rendition of quality customer service to the public.

Drawing good impression seems the hardest of Chief PNP's performance output requirement from its members. With the decaying image of the PNP, General Aglipay's term does not suffice to frame back the organization with credibility and integrity.

Lately, the survey, in which the PNP emerged as the most corrupt institution, added insult to injury. This survey came out months after General Aglipay waged an intensified campaign to reform the organization.

But, ironically, this is the only corruption-stricken organization that afforded its members a wholesome P2,400.00 medical assistance bonus on December last year out of its savings in barely a quarter of implementing austerity measures. Other government agencies should have given their members double of that amount. Did they? Or , the survey should have revealed otherwise?

The PNP is unwavering amidst the controversies buffeting it from all corners. And , it remains focused to its vision of a “professional, dynamic and highly-motivated PNP”. Thus, General Aglipay keeps urging the members of the police force to maintain a highest degree of professionalism and productivity in the performance of their duties and responsibilities.

Police Regional Office (PRO) 6 deserves our congratulations for having outscored all other PROs in the country based on the assessment of their performances in General Aglipay's C.A.R.E program. Last month, Regional Director P/ CSupt . George L. Aliño received a Plaque of Merits in recognition to such a remarkable performance. This is only one of the various awards and commendations that PRO 6 has achieved in General Aliño's term.

It is noteworthy that remarkable achievements fall generously to PRO 6 under General Aliño's strong leadership. PRO 6 has the highest number of neutralized wanted persons; drug gangs; and solved almost 60-65% of unsolved cases in the past five years. Other PROs are far behind the statistics.

PRO 6 has maintained the strongest level of competitiveness in comparison to other units nationwide. What it does not have at present is the specific statistic of public perceptions to the members of police force in the region.
