New call center to open in Iloilo City soon

ICT Group, an international outsourcing company, has chosen Iloilo City for its third site in the Philippines .

The ICT Group recently concluded its 3-day job fair for Technical Support Representatives and the outcome was rewarding.

“We are very excited in looking forward to out third site in Iloilo . The assistance that was given our group was wonderful. No doubt that business in Iloilo for ICT is going to be a very positive choice,” said Anthony Clarke, Assistant Director, International Training and Development, ICT Group.

“Our studies and experiences truly tell us that Iloilo City has all the potentials of becoming the bpo /call center hub of Western Visayas . DTI-Iloilo gave us tremendous hospitality and support for our appreciation of what the city has to offer, even if it entails them to go out of their ways just to service our requirements,” said Eric Armeza , Manager, CB Richard Ellis, Consultant to ICT Group.

In December last year the first call center in Iloilo City started its operations. ePLDT Ventus , a 300-seater center, initially provided jobs to 120 residents of Iloilo .

“I am very happy that call centers have considered Iloilo City as once of their investment choices. Rest assured they have the support of the LGU, the private sector through Iloilo Business Club and other private organizations, the academe and other government agencies. Furthermore, I am encouraging the government and the non-government agencies for a collaborative effort and continue undertaking activities that will help sell our city to more investments related to this,” Mayor Jerry Treñas said.

DTI Iloilo provincial director Diosdado Cadena , Jr. hailed the interventions and initiatives that the local partnership has done that have placed Iloilo into the ICT map.

“There is still much to do but we are on the right track. Thus we are determined to pursue what we have started,” added Cadena .
