Painters and visual artists cuddle an unfathomable imagination and enigmatic artistic moods that sometimes or most of the time unleashes an unparalleled thought-provoking abstract painting that deeply mirrors the haunting yet lenient realities of life. These emotionally and artistically gifted individuals hold wonderful ideas about how beautiful and blissful life can be if the world would let their inner thoughts be visualized in a more compassionate and open-minded way. For years the Museo Iloilo has been catering to the need of various visual artists from all walks of life to express, display and show their hidden talents to those who knew how to appreciate the arts in the most vivid and picturesque way. This edifice has been the home of artists and creative minds where they unseal their cryptic yet impressive thoughts and creativity.

Last Friday, January 21, 2005 Museo lloilo launched “Big names, small works”, a truly eclectic and exceptional painting exhibit by various national artists who achieved numerous citations in the field of arts. It was a day before the Kasadyahan and Dinagyang Festival wherein these great artists intended to tie-up their exhibit to the city's cultural and religious event in order to propagate the value of arts in the lives of the Ilonggos . The exhibit was a humble and relevant display of arts as a medium of social reformation and education for those who were blinded to see the relevant realities of life. The aim of such exhibit is not only to raise funds but for a noble cause of infusing the greatness of art and its role in molding young minds to embrace such wonderful craft and passion. These sage artists were bigger than life itself for they can conquer the unfathomed artistic realms, still their works are just small but it remained a valid proof how you live your life is art itself.

The featured artists in ‘Big names, small works' are Antonio Austria, Francesca Enriquez, Lao Lianben , Arturo Luz, Romulo Olazo , Juvenal Sanso, Ofelia Tequi and a mysterious artist who named himself Ang Kiukok . The exhibit will last for a month at Museo Iloilo to cater to art enthusiasts from all walks of life . So, are you prepared to embrace art?
