Iloilo Business Club to update investors

To update investors with the current market, the Iloilo Business Club (IBC) will hold an economic briefing today, January 14, from 1-5 p.m. at Amigo Terrace Hotel.

“Business Prospects 2005” aims to make businessmen “be abreast with the latest trends in macroeconomics, agribusiness and other available investment opportunities in the country and Panay ”.

IBC executive director Ma. Victoria Lara said the forum is a project of the IBC for the business sector. She added this would provide investors the much needed information to come-up with decision as the country's economy is growing.

Lara stressed the output of the discussion will also be utilized by businessmen as their planning guide for this year. She cited this will help those who plan to venture into business by choosing from the possible opportunities available.

The speakers of said seminar are Wilhelm G. Ortaliz, deputy director general of Philippine Economic Zone Authority; Winston Conrad B. Padojinog, senior economist-Industry Group, School of Economics of University of Asia and the Pacific; Ramon M. Quesada, head of Business Economic Club of the same school; and a representative from Department of Agriculture (DA) Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Service.

Lara noted that expected participants are leaders of business associations. The IBC also opened the affair to various schools to get the support of the curriculum for college students in their relation to their business classes, she said.
